Morning of 10-16: after the 08:01 crash, Dress Up 0.0.62 to 0.0.67 while Matthew was away
2026-10-16, 08:05 to 09:05 MDT, Claude. Matthew minted three tickets with me, then went AFK at 08:22 asking me to work through them, bumping the version and publishing after each ticket-sized piece.
The 08:01 crash, recovered
- The laptop went down at 08:01, five minutes after the last session released Dress Up 0.0.61 and went idle (load about 2 on 20 CPUs; the journal just stops, mid-cron). Nothing was lost: both repositories were clean and pushed, and no file written around the crash was empty.
- The five servers the dashboard links are back, one at a time: 8000 (this dashboard), 8131 (the perf series), 8133 (the game), 8311 (#2597,
integration/livelits-splicerefs-full) and 8341 (#2635,integration/livelits-modular-editors); both Hazel servers'/status.jsonname the right worktree and branch, with no stale sources. dashboard/close_ticket.pyhad closed tickets since 10-15 but was never committed; it is now (f407c40, on Matthew's go-ahead), noted in VERSIONS.md under Unreleased.
Dress Up releases (each pushed, Pages run green, live page and version.json checked)
| Version | Commit | Ticket | What a player sees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.0.62 | 0557089 | 136 | Legs that hug: in profile in a place the far leg goes behind the one hugged, the near leg in front. A new pose, "🤗 jumping up into a hug", with "🦘 held up". |
| 0.0.63 | e679450 | 137 | "🪜 climbing a ladder" turned to the side: the ladder in front of them, side on. |
| 0.0.64 | 130cbf0 | 137 | "🧗 climbing": up the nearest ladder in the place (a dungeon's, a tree house room's, the tree's from the ground, the stable's loft), through its doorway at the top. The old one is "🪜 climbing (with ladder)". |
| 0.0.65 | a682de2 | 138 | "⬆️ away from us": the friend from behind (hair over the back of the head, closed hoods, wings and tails in front). Climbing a place's ladder faces it. |
| 0.0.66 | 75861be | 138 | "🐸 jumping (once)": crouch, up, land, then back to what they were doing. |
| 0.0.67 | 195efe0 | 138 | A game controller, and the "🎮 Controls" tab: arrows move and turn the friend, the other buttons start animations; a usual layout with every animation, plus back and the nearest doorway. |
How each was checked
- The safety net sweep (82 pictures) after each drawing change: 0.0.62 and 0.0.65 unchanged from the version before; 0.0.64 changed only the places with marked ladders (and the clearing and imagination by an empty wrapper group, checked with
markupdiff.mjs). The waterfall's three pictures differ between two runs of the same copy, so they are noise. - Contact sheets and crops in
~/du-shots/r136/,r137/,r138/(on the laptop only). - New test tools in
~/du-shots/tools/:climbcheck.py(every place with a ladder: where the friend goes, what happens at the top),padcheck.py(a fake standard gamepad: moving, each button, a jump, a climb, the nearest doorway, Surprise),release_check.py(waits for the Pages run, then checks the live page and version.json).pageshot.pytakesPAGE=/other.htmlnow.
Not verified, and loose ends
- The controller has only met a fake one. Trying it with the real USB controller is ticket 139 (waiting on Matthew), with what to tune after: the speeds, the stick's dead middle, the default layout, controllers that number buttons differently.
- Ticket 133 (the drag speed fix, 0.0.58) still waits for Matthew to try it on his device.
- From behind, shoes still look as they do from the front, and a suit's stripes on the hood's back are plain fur.
- In the stable, the friend climbing to the loft is partly behind the arched door by the left wall: the scene's own depth puts the door nearer than the ladder.
- "🪜 climbing (with ladder)" still faces us, as ticket 132 had it; it can be turned away with the facing chips.
Next
Every ticket in the queue now waits on Matthew (🪷): 133, 139, 18, 102, and the long runs 25, 24, 13, 14, 15, 19. The dashboard's current ticket is 133 with ✋❔ raised.
